“A tavola non si invecchia mai”… At the table, you never grow old.
Join us at our farm on the Medomak River as Melody Wolfertz transports you to the island of Sicily. Chef-owner Melody Wolfertz returned to her home town of Rockland in 2000 after thirteen years of chef and restaurant management experience. While managing the Wine Seller, she saw the need for a place where people could go to drink good wine in a relaxed environment. In Good Company opened in July of 2004, inspired by this wish. With great vision and a lot of help from local artisans, Melody renovated a former bank, an Italianate landmark and part of the Custom House Block. In Good Company believes in a life of balance spent in the open air versus the smog of the city. One must eat and drink only good things that are genuine and simple, in moderate amounts and in good company. Good company is fundamental…with friends everything tastes better, is more enjoyable and better absorbed. It enriches your blood and spirit…
Menu: Melody will build a menu inspired by her travels to Sicily in June, drawing on local, fresh ingredients. Full menu will be announced closer to the supper.
Farmhouse Table Suppers at East Forty Farm are held under the grape arbor or in the 1774 Farmhouse, depending on the weather. We dine together at one long table, with many dishes served family style. We view these suppers as a way to make a connection with our food system by meeting the chefs, growers or producers. Each evening begins with a tour of the farm that begins at 5:30 and as we progress through the summer, you will see how we manage the livestock and land and be able to observe the transformation the changes of season brings.
Supper cost: $75 per person, BYOB. Limited to 20 guests. Please indicate food allergies at the time of reservation.
Time: Tour and Talk, 5:30 pm. Supper, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Location: East Forty Farm and Dairy, 2361 Friendship Road (Route 220 South), Waldoboro ME 04572
